According to the minutes of the North Ohio Methodist Episcopal Conference of 1844, the Conference recommended the appointment of three professors for a Collegiate program at Ohio Wesleyan University in the coming fall, provided that the Trustees would have the money to pay their salaries. The Conference also expressed its disapproval of the OWU Preparatory students ("Delaware High School") standing during prayer at chapel, which the preachers considered "contrary to Methodist practice." |
